How to wear Tassel Earrings

....or alternative title The Dingle Dangle Stainathon

Have you bought into the dangle tassel earrings trend?  At Mutton age it wasn't a trend I was comfortable with for me, that is until my Mr Him spotted these babies on vacation.

Bigger, bolder yet for some reason that we can't name we both thought would be more age appropriate.  Does any expert fashionista reading this know why? Maybe because they are soooo dingle dangle that I would only wear them for a dingle dangle type event so wouldn't appear as garish as they would in the day to day.

The dingle dangle event I wore them to recently was a curry with friends, with a sneaky predrink in Waitrose Winebar, above.  I'm going for a curry every 2 months on the night before a braces change.  This is not to punish the orthodontist, no really it's not...despite the pain he causes me. It's because turmeric and various spices stain the plastic bits. These get changed on my visit so on the night before I dive into my once in 2 months full on stainathon.

For this 'dangle dangle stainathon' I chose a tunic top with similar colouring to the dingle dangles.  This blouse also had decor around the neckline so there was no need for a necklace, which also suited the dingle dangles.  The blouse is 4 years old and unworn to date.  Honestly I don't know why.  I need a belt on these jeans and as I was doing a front tuck I decided to use a red belt.  The alternative would have been black but I was in a sassy mood.  I blame it on the dingle dangles.

My jacket was my good old faithful black  pleather moto and I added skinny black jeans.  the jacket is shorter than the tunic top.  One way that I accommodate this is by  front tucking the tunic into my trousers and developing a modern rounded shape to the rear of the top.  I like this shape hanging below the short jacket.

I call this stance   'The go away paparazzi'

On my feet I wore bling in my gold metallic Dune backless loafers.

We had a great night with our friends. They read my other blog, my Anna Muttonyears  one and so knew all of our holiday news.  They had a question and answer session with us having read the material and watched the videos.  Here if you are interested.

Back to the curry.  It wouldn't be right not to let the tablecloth join in a stainathon.  Can you imagine that on my teeth for a few months!

  1. Much as I love dingle dangle earrings, I cannot wear them, not even to a dingle dangle event, as my ears are not pierced, and I can't imagine wearing anything dingle dangle as a clip on earring. That said, I love the colour of your earrings, they even match the curry! I can't imagine why, if chosen wisely, a dingle dangle earring wouldn't be age appropriate! xxx

  3. Love the post, love the outfit. I'm no fashionista so can offer no rationale but IMHO the earrings look fab on you, lady. Should you be desperate for a curry mid-dentist-visit you can always use Mr Him's holiday shorts as a cunning distraction!

  4. Love the earrings and the whole outfit Anna. I am loving dingle dangleys like you, but do you feel they are so much larger on us little petites? You have obviously found the perfect size here. I guess I just need to look for more downsized dingley dangleys! xx

    1. I didn't really think about proportion. I was more concentrating on suitability to my age. These certainly aren't downsized:)

  6. I giggled and giggled once I figured out what a "stainathon" was. Haha. Is it wired that I imagine Bridget Jones accent when I read your blog? (I hope that isn't offensive). I love the earrings you choose. Super pretty and an evening out or with a dress for a dressy affair they would be perfect.

    1. Not at all. It's exactly how I write dear gypo sister. My Anna blog is even more tongue in cheek. That one is mostly about my 'hub of the photobombing.' and his antics.
