Spring Outfits from Sussex

My dear fashionista, there are a few spring outfits I've worn that,  in my amatuer opinion, were winners.  I really felt that I had learnt from past mistakes, learnt from experts like you  and pulled together some looks that I would definitely wear again but also not tried before I started my blogging journey.

First up is my outfit for when I went to the Bodyshop blogger event.  I wrote about the event but not the outfit so let's start by addressing that.  It was difficult to know how to gauge my outfit for this.  It was a private evening but trying on samples so not a dressy affair.  However, I didn't want to go too casual.   It was a cool evening too as we are talking about early April.  After a bit of dithering I chose my safe black skinny jeans (just can't go wrong), a black jacket (adds the smart), a grey jumper with a star on (adds the play it down plus the statement piece) and my tassle burgundy earrings (and some element of being current.)  Now there you have a formula for smart casual don't you?  Just add footwear and mix.  Which is of course what I did once I got there, mix that is.  I added footwear before I went, despite what the picture may say.

My second ouftit was a rather unusual combination for me. Red and blue.  It worked.  This shirt is one that was ontrend a couple of years ago so many of us have them in our closets.  Red jeans were about last year, and this too.  Actually same could be said of the shirt.  I wore the two together one warm spring day this year with me M&S red slip on shoes.

Could we just focus on the outfit combo and shoes and ignore my overgrown hair.  Focus back to the red jeans and blue grey striped shirt because this is so easily replicatable from many wardrobes (closets.)

Let's look at the formula from earlier.  Red skinny jeans (just can't go wrong in the spring on sunny day), shirt (adds the smart), material of the shirt being a sort of cheesecloth (adds the play it down plus the pattern is the  statement piece) and my tassle red earrings (and some element of being current), except you will have to take my word for it as my unruly needing a cut hair is covering them. Why I bothered I don't know.

Although my hair did seem to calm down between garden and car.

My last outfit that I have worn out recently is a barely can you see it.  We went out for a meal with friends at a local pub one evening which involved walking across the fields.  Hubster decided my pics should be in the field as far away from him as possible. He's kind like that.

Anyway it's pretty well the same as ouftit one except I have swapped statement jumper for statement shirt (last seen ).  I quite like the combination of black with pastel. I wouldn't have combined this a few years ago.  Pastels were for white and creams not black.  Haven't we come along way in our dressing adventures.  It makes our clothes much more versatile doesn't it.
