Today's post is about holiday planning.  What does that mean to you ? Thanksgiving maybe? Black Friday shopping, Christmas or Hannukah.  In the UK for me it would be the festive season so I give you muttonstyle tips for planning.

1. Order the M&S beauty calendar at a cost of  £35 for £280 worth of beauty goodies.  Yes today's the day. Go hit that button before they sell out.

2. Order the meat.  Yes I can tick that too. We've got a goose on order. Pricey but we use it all. Stock and fat. The fat keeps us going for roasties for a year or so when frozen.

3. Get the crackers whilst there is plenty in store.  We've bought some fun ones from Waitrose here .

4. Think about guests. Invite the most reliable.  We invited hubsters mum and aunt but having initially said yes they now want to spend a quiet Christmas at home.  Darn, just as we had bought the crackers and ordered the goose, enough for them.

5. Investigate the Jamie Oliver cook ahead gravy.   All very efficient but in our house every one likes good old "Aaah" Bisto with added meat juices.

6. Hint heavily and regularly to  relatives and friends that you really are avoiding biscuits and chocolates this Christmas. You've got 6 weeks to stop that pile of gifted confectionary so start hinting now.

7. Think about buying an Alexa for festive fun and music.  I bought mine in last year's Black Friday sale

8. Select some festive novels too read.

A Very Merry Manhattan Christmas by Darcie Boleyn
Mistletoe on 34th Street by Lisa Dickenson
How to Stuff up Christmas by Rosie Blake
The Twelve Days of Christmas by Lisa Dickenson
Sleigh Rides and Silver Bells at the Christmas Fair by Heidi Swain
The Chocolate Lover's Christmas by Carole Matthews

  5. Thanks for your tips, fortunately we don't get many edible goodies. I'm waiting for Son to get an Alexa so that I can get some guidance off the back of his experience. Hugs, x.
